Irina Greciuhina

Galerie-P6-Berlin is pleased to present Disorientation, a solo exhibition of paintings by Moldovan artist Irina Greciuhina.

A painting is frozen time, like a fly in amber, perpetually. Indicative of a moment, it exists eternally in the present time. Its nature preserves the imprint of an era and the inner workings of the artist’s psyche.

Greciuhina is a master of collecting these fleeting moments and casting them upon the canvas. In visual spells and vivid imagery, she transports us to utopic-dystopian wonderlands steeped in dimension and depth. Like psychedelic fairy tales, rich with vibrant colours and interspersed with curious objects and characters that fit - but don’t quite, the works and the titles that accompany them allow the viewer to also be the storyteller in the artist’s dreamland - balanced in a realm between the inner and outer worlds.

The artist’s work on Disorientation began in 2024 and was completed at the very start of 2025 — a moment when the full-scale Disorientation could not yet be fathomed. To be in a state of disorientation means a feeling of being confused about where you are, where you are going, or what is happening. Terrorizing for some, the artist uses this as a mental tool for creation. She embraces it.

For Greciuhina, art does not follow a predetermined plan — it emerges from a spontaneous flow from within. Mystics call it a vision, poets call it inspiration, and artists call it revelation. It is a state in which consciousness opens to the unknown, allowing the invisible to become visible. We believe we are moving toward meaning, but more often than not, we are simply moving in circles — the circles of fate, the circles of history.

Greciuhina’s work leaves questions rather than offering answers. Her work creates a space for reflection, a mirror to the viewer. She believes that freedom lies not in choosing sides but in ceasing to be controlled. Only then does the unsettling feeling of disorientation fade, and one can begin to see beauty in the atmosphere happens around them. A twisting of fate and mesmerizingly disorienting.

The exhibition can be seen online from 10.04.25 to 07.06.25 via the Galerie-P6-Berlin-Profil on Artsy.
