Since the war broke out in Sudan in April 2023, the situation of the people there has deteriorated dramatically. More than eleven million people – over half of them children and young people – have been displaced.

The United Nations reports horrific crimes, including torture, enforced disappearances, enslavement, sexual abuse, rape, exploitation as child soldiers, sexual exploitation as domestic servants, and extrajudicial executions. Further violence threatens those fleeing.

  • What can be done about this?
  • What is the current situation?

These questions are being investigated together with borderline-europe - Human Rights Without Borders.
