JAMILA & THE OTHER HEROES is a wild band from manywhere that will take you flying with their psychedelic desert funk. Singer Jamila Al-Yousef, who named the band after her Palestinian grandmother, was born in Berlin on the day the Berlin Wall fell and practically absorbed the revolutionary energy with her mother's milk.

She and her heroes compose songs that appeal to a transcultural audience who can identify with the band's diaspora narratives and their musical fight against racism.

Jamila's emancipatory message in Arabic and English is supported by powerful live musicians. Let yourself be swept away by an incomparable sound of psychedelic guitar riffs (Leon Sanchez) vibrating on an earthy foundation of warm bass lines (Felix 'Fema' Barth) and Arabic percussion sounds (Salam Alhassan), as well as groovy Afrobeat, hip hop, and rock-influenced drum beats (Pier Ciaccio).

The dance floor created by JAMILA & THE OTHER HEROES is a breeding ground where people meet and practice togetherness – the musicians' response to the mechanisms of exclusion of our time.

The band's message is simple: "Each of us can be a hero! Let's discover our superpowers and make the world a better place."
