Max Hopp sings great songs by Heinz Erhardt with a small orchestra - punchlines and poetry included
Erhardt struck a chord with an audience in the Federal Republic of Germany during the economic miracle, eager to leave the dark times of war and catastrophe behind them. His jokes and songs were and still are universally loved, and they still bring tears to your eyes, not just from laughter.
Max Hopp, with the support of his orchestra of hand-picked Berlin musicians, brings the witty, absurd, and profound twists of words to a selection of well-known songs, lesser-known piano compositions, poems, and touching stories.
Max Knoth's arrangements interpret Erhardt's melodic juggling in a cheeky, light-hearted way, elegantly bringing the sound of the 1920s to the 1960s into the present day.
