Just an ant, now a dinosaur, or something in between? “Animals Meet Animals” celebrates the joy of play and the magic of transformation.

Who's coming in there? An animal, but which one is it? And what are the other animals doing who are having a big party in the house? Of course they invite it. But when relaxed elephants meet cheeky bats, shy swans meet funny iguanas, they can sometimes misunderstand each other. And just when everyone finally agrees on what they want to do next, the next animal comes fluttering in.

“Animals Meet Animals” tells the story of unexpected encounters and curiosity about the unknown, full of situational comedy. The piece not only surprises the audience, but also the players on stage: There are no fixed texts, no agreed-upon story - everything arises from improvisation and interaction with the audience.

Lia Massetti, artist (Theater Thikwa), developed the concept for “Animals Meet Animals” last season as part of the residency “I can imagine everything 2”, in which artists with disabilities developed play ideas for young audiences. In the 2023/24 season she and her team will bring this production to the stage for daycare children.
