In 2025, the Canisius College will celebrate its 100th anniversary – a rich history that began in the "golden 1920s" as a secondary school on Lake Lietzensee. During the Nazi era, the school, an institution of the Jesuit order, was forced to close and found a new beginning after the war in the Villa Krupp am Tiergarten.
The 1970s and 1980s brought dark chapters that came to light in 2010 thanks to the courage of former students together with the rector. But the college's history is also one of change: characterized by mindfulness and appreciation, it is reflected today in the school for children and young people with refugee and migration backgrounds, founded in 2019.
From the very beginning, the college has pursued a clear goal: to help young people become "people for others" – and this is precisely what the school wants to celebrate together in 2025.
