ԱՏԵՐԱԶՄԱ | Reading & Talk

It’s-Hate-War by Karén Karslyan is one of the main works of contemporary Armenian literature about the war for Artsakh. In it Karslyan argues for a perspective on Armenians and Azerbaijanis with a shared history – both in the Soviet era and before.

His poetic and visual investigation presents the individual, human experiences behind the political hostilities. It calls on the readers to see the young men in the trenches on both sides of the border as people who share terrible and long-lasting suffering.

Karén Karslyan, an author and interdisciplinary artist, talks to author Sasha Marianna Salzmann about the political realities behind literature and how they impact the writing process.
