Miss Daisy rages - over her paternalism and concern for her independence. Hoke gives her nothing, but met her pointed tongue with a saucy muzzle. Cunningly, he increases his salary and drives every car, despite Daisy's maps unmoved to the destination. The former elementary school teacher misses him a literacy crash course and learns to appreciate his helpfulness. A charming unequal old couple - welded together by shared life experiences. Above all, the piece is about the beginning of a wonderful friendship and getting older. It is a rather tender than militant plea against racism and advocates for tolerance and humanity. The sequence of scenes, which spans around a quarter of a century, casts precise highlights on the psychological and physical changes in the three figures in this quiet chamber play.
The tragicomedy premiered in 1987 was successfully filmed in 1989 and awarded four Oscars.
