Public exhibition accompaniment
The permanent exhibition in the Tränenpalast, the former exit hall at the Friedrichstraße border crossing, uses biographical examples and original objects to show how German division affected people's lives. With an escort, you will discover the most important themes and historical traces: How did people from the GDR manage to escape or leave for the West? What were the experiences of travelers from East and West during the check-in at the Palace of Tears? What memories do you yourself associate with this historic site?
