Family workshop on the letters of Max Liebermann

Bring your grandma and/or grandpa and come to the Liebermann Villa! There is a special family tour of the exhibition and afterwards you can visit the studio table.

Have you ever wondered what the handwriting of a famous painter looks like?

In the workshop, the participants immerse themselves in the letters of the artist Max Liebermann. More than three thousand of them have been preserved. He wrote to his family, friends, colleagues, clients and many more. In the exhibition “In Focus: Collected Stories”, we take a closer look at the letters and his handwriting and discover whether he wrote the way he painted.

Then it's up to you: who would you like to write a letter to? Design a letter and make a stamp out of it. Use it to design an envelope and write or draw your own personal letter. Don't forget the address: they'll send your mail!
