The international football film festival 11mm is celebrating its 20th edition and invites film and football fans to Berlin from 24 to 28 April 2025 for a diverse programme.



The programme will kick off with the world premiere of Torsten Körner's documentary MÄDCHEN KÖNNEN KEIN FUSSBALL SPIELEN (Germany 2025).

On Thursday 24 April, director Torsten Körner will be joined by producer Antje Boehmert, the team and numerous female protagonists at the new venue, the Colosseum Filmtheater Berlin.

The best feature films, documentaries and short films with unforgettable football moments, legendary characters and incredible stories about football will then take centre stage at the Colosseum Filmtheater Berlin until 28 April.


11mm founder Birger Schmidt and his new co-festival director Frank Albers and their team are looking forward to celebrating twenty years of presenting outstanding films about the fascination of football. ‘The festival will focus on various new international releases, a special programme for children and young people and a series entitled ‘Female Footballers: Stories of Passion and Triumph'.’


11mm - The International Football Film Festival
The 11mm International Football Film Festival - the only one of its kind in the world - is dedicated to current and classic feature and documentary films centred around the fascination of football. The festival's own short film competition ‘shortkicks’ as well as installations, exhibitions and readings also take place as part of the football film festival. Since 2015, the organisers have also been hosting the children's and youth football film festival ‘11minimeter’, a school cinema week that will take place as an independent festival for the first time in 2018.
