An extraordinary evening with an exciting fusion of electric indie, oriental flamenco and modern folklore awaits guests at the Eschschloraque on 5 February 2025.
A synthesiser and flamenco – not flamenco puro, but a special way of singing, melodies, some rhythms and language merge with modern sounds.
The musical foundation grooves, organises and squeaks similarly to how it did back then. Tonia Reeh gave her last concert as Monotekktoni about ten years ago. Under this name, she released four albums on Sinnbus, an EP on Monika Enterprise and toured across Europe.
In the meantime, she has released solo albums on the piano on Clouds Hill, performed and toured with drummer Rudi Fischerlehner as the duo ‘La Tourette’, and composed film music. In the summer of 2021, she presented an unusual combination of styles as a new live set. Her love of flamenco, old Spanish folk and anti-fascist resistance songs, Latin American music, Arabic scales and Balkan beats characterises her artistic work.
This mixture of styles sounds soulful, danceable, catchy, powerful and crazy at the same time – a composition that blurs temporal and spatial boundaries. The Spanish language and the reinterpretation of anti-fascist resistance songs with fervour and humour present new challenges. The album ‘Puño en Alto’ was released in May 2023.
