Women have been underrepresented as composers in the past centuries. In some cases they were even forbidden from composing. The Chorwerkstatt Schöneberg performs choral works by female composers. The works are predominantly from the Romantic, Impressionist and contemporary periods. These include well-known women such as Clara Schumann, Fanny Hensel, but also less frequently heard women such as Lili Boulanger and Emma Lou Diemer.
