Theodor Fontanes Heldenballade ‘John Maynard’ aus Sicht der Passagiere an Bord.

Theodor Fontante wrote the poem after a ship actually went up in flames, whose passengers were mainly emigrants. What kind of people could they have been and why did they leave their homeland?

And how would the shipwreck have turned out if the one rescuer had not taken the helm, but all the passengers had joined together in the rescue?

This story is timeless.

Five people travel aboard a large ship. Each with their own dream of a new life. A rich businessman who wants to expand his timber empire. His daughter, a revolutionary, an impostor and a runaway girl.

Drama, live music and a constantly changing stage set make this performance a special experience.

One ship - five hopes

Theodor Fontane's heroic ballad 'John Maynard' from the perspective of the passengers on board.
