Their music recontextualizes grunge, shoegaze, and post-rock through
a reinterpretation of traditional band dynamics, characterized by unique
compositional techniques as well as visceral immediacy.
First Body works within
the frameworks of electroacoustics and ambient, with influences from
contemporary music, jazz, and free improvisation. Since 2022, they have combined
acoustically amplified wind instruments (such as saxophone and recorders) with
field recordings, synthesizers, and electronic effects to create complex,
multi-layered music.
