In the Schlütersaal of the Ephraim-Palais Museum, Berlin radio announcer and actress Mareike Hein will read from the book "In an old house in Berlin". Children can simply come into the Schlütersaal, sit on large cushions and listen to stories about life in Berlin houses from 1871 to 2021. For the little ones, there is a selection of books to browse and look at.
The book "In an old house in Berlin" was created in collaboration with the Berlin City Museum. Many of the objects depicted in it come from the museum's collection. Aside from the interactive reading, the city history exhibition "BerlinZEIT" and the special photographic presentation "Berlin im Blick" invite you to visit.

Sunday in the Nikolaiviertel
With this action day, the Berlin City Museum is following on from the popular Museum Sunday, which unfortunately cannot be continued in 2025 due to austerity measures by the Berlin Senate.
On the first Sunday of the month, they instead offer a special, wide-ranging program for everyone in their three museums in the Nikolaiviertel - families in particular are warmly invited.
So you can continue to look forward to great offers in the Ephraim-Palais Museum, the Nikolaikirche Museum and the Knoblauchhaus Museum!
Even if admission can no longer be free for everyone, it will at least remain so for many: The solidarity pricing model offers free admission for visitors with proof of a discount, for example for children and young people under 18, students, trainees, those doing FSJ, FÖJ and BFD, for severely disabled people, refugees, recipients of citizen's allowance or ALG I and many others.
Everyone else only pays for museum admission and can benefit from the discounted combination ticket for all three museums. The extensive action day program is included in the price.
