The Berlin Paul Robeson Choir will be giving a concert in the Christuskirche in Berlin-Oberschöneweide on Sunday, 22 December 2024 at 16:30. The programme includes gospels and spirituals as well as German and English Christmas carols.
With this mix, the choir presents well-known and new songs and also commemorates the people who could not or cannot celebrate Christmas in peace. The musical direction is in the hands of Joachim Kuipers.
The 50 singers of the Paul Robeson Choir honour the legacy of their African-American namesake, who was known worldwide as a singer and actor. What's more, he was active as a civil rights activist and peace fighter until the end of his life. By cultivating the musical legacy of Paul Robeson (1898 - 1976), the choir is also honouring his commitment to peace and justice.
Coffee and cake will be provided during the interval.
