The exhibition brings together works by over 20 artists and aims to reshape the perception of Africa in the global imagination. It draws on the continent's rich cultural heritage and its current socio-political dynamics, inspired by the philosophy of the Cameroonian thinker Achille Mbembe. He calls for thinking of a "common world" by "looking at the world from Africa".
With this perspective, the exhibition aims to question common clichés and promote a view that places Africa at the center of a common global future.
The photographers and filmmakers involved fight against stereotypical representations in their work and instead show the diverse realities of the continent and its potential to reshape human stories.
The exhibition is divided into three thematic areas that deal with identity and tradition, counter-histories and imaginary visions of the future.
