KW, a hike with Raoul Zöllner
In the early 1990s, the KW Institute for Contemporary Art was founded in a former margarine factory. Its history is inextricably linked to that of its neighborhood, the surrounding streets and its buildings.
To understand the historical entanglements of KW, we embark on a journey through boarded-up buildings, underground garages, distant domes over burial chambers, communist clubhouses and the courtyard of a collector who lives in a former nationalized factory. The view of a distant high-rise overshadowing the Soviet-era relics on Alexanderplatz marks the end of our tour of KW's neighboring streets.
A tour through the streets into KW's past.
