Sarah Hallmann will tell you where to go
Small paradises in Berlin
Sarah Hallmann has transformed the former unconventional breakfast restaurant Hallmann & Klee into one of the capital's fine dining hotspots. She seeks her inspiration from all over the world, but still favours seasonal and regional produce.
It's warm and cosy in the Hallmann & Klee restaurant, whose minimalist interior design perfectly reflects the pared-down, honest cooking style of restaurateur Sarah and her team.

And these are Sarah Hallmann's personal recommendations for your culinary journey through Berlin:
Start the day with fragrant croissants
A fine, flaky, crispy croissant... accompanied by a delicious cup of coffee, of course: there's no better way to start the day than with breakfast at La Maison in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Here you will find everything in one place: café, patisserie and bakery - in case you want to take one of the fluffy brioches or delicious éclairs home with you. Unbeatable in summer: the terrace.
La Maison, Paul-Lincke-Ufer 17, Kreuzberg
Next Step: Japan
A Japanese tapas bar? In Wedding? If you're rubbing your eyes in disbelief right now, just head to Brunnenstraße and treat yourself to a wonderful culinary snack menu at Niko Izakaya: fried mochi with radish and dashi or mackerel tartare, accompanied by a homemade bitter lemon or various sakes... An experience at any time of day!

Spending the day at Mausi
A café or a bar? Mausi on the beautiful Richardplatz in Neukölln combines both, making it the perfect meeting place at any time of day. Here you can start the day with a croissant and coffee in the morning, try out the creative, predominantly vegan or vegetarian menu at lunchtime or round off the evening with unusual cocktails such as the ‘Matcho-Matcha’. The rustic charm of the interior with colourful glass windows and candlelight makes the Mausi a place that invites you to linger.

Refuel with a quaint Berlin original in Kantstraße
Night owls are drawn to the Schwarze Café in Charlottenburg, a legendary Berlin cult institution with a long tradition: the Schwarze Café was already catering for alternative circles in the 1970s. Whether pasta, salad or toast or even a schnitzel: the good home cooking will revitalise anyone and everyone, at any time of day. From Monday to Friday, you can recharge your batteries there until 3 a.m. Unfortunately, the café is closed at weekends.
