10 reading locations – 10 genres – 33 authors. This will be the 8th reading night at the M8 2025!
Extraordinary reading locations such as the clay house ALPHA 2, the Lessing car dealership and the ADTV dance school Kotzur invite you to listen for the eighth time. Put together YOUR reading night on the M8! Attend up to three readings of your choice. Of course you can stay in one place.
All literature enthusiasts are offered unique settings for their reading experiences that reflect the cultural vibrancy of the district. From a village church with historic charm and inviting tenant's meetings to a modern car dealership, a creative dance school and an environmental station made of clay - the reading night transforms the route along the M8 into a literary dream.
The 33 participating authors offer a wide range of literary genres and styles to suit every taste. Enchanting fairy tales, thrilling thrillers, sensual and erotic love stories, fantastic stories, poignant biographies and young philosophical works ensure a varied and inspiring experience for all visitors.
The event starts at 6.30 pm and offers guests the opportunity to visit the reading locations of their choice and switch between them during the 45-minute breaks. At each reading location, three authors will read a selection of texts from their books. It is an inspiring opportunity for readers to experience the world of literature up close and enter into a personal dialogue with the authors. For the first time, author Kirsten Fuchs will be performing at the Reading Stage Night and actor Peter Bause at the Satire Night.
New to the 2025 program are
- the FAIRY TALE NIGHT - of course only for adults
- the TRAVEL NIGHT and
- the READING STAGE NIGHT.
The special thing about the reading night on the M8, however, is that you can move from place to place.
45-minute breaks between readings give you the opportunity to change location.
The 8th reading night welcomes well-known and new actors.
An insider tip is the “Young Philosophical Night” in the district central library:
Five young adults from the writing workshop for young people lead the audience through the “Young Philosophical Night” in the Mark Twain Library. In their texts they reflect on their lives, human interaction and the future. They encourage reflection, address their own perspectives and observations of their environment and refute common prejudices against the younger generation.
An evening full of hope and confidence.
The program is rounded off with professional musical interludes.
Come and talk to one another and enjoy the evening.
