On 24 December, the Havelland Ensemble presents festive baroque and classical music at the historic venue, the Orangery Charlottenburg.
The concert on the afternoon of Christmas Eve is an invitation to atmospheric contemplation.
Soprano Alena Karmanova (Staatsopernchor Berlin) will perform arias from J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio and G. F. Handel's Julius Caesar.
Visitors will also hear entertaining anecdotes about the most beautiful festive season of the year. At the end, traditional Christmas carols are sung together.
Works by G.P. Telemann and Friedrich II will be performed. Dr Guido Böhm will humorously guide the audience through the programme. For ten years now, the Havelland Ensemble has been known for its carefully conceived and moderated concert programmes with a connection to history and has performed in numerous palaces in Berlin and Brandenburg (including Grunewald, Babelsberg, Sanssouci, Friedrichsfelde, Rheinsberg and many more).
