The book of those killed by Neil Young

Since then, Neil Young's music hasn't let go of the former Vienna Boys' Choir. Only a short time later he bought his first guitar and taught himself how to play. Like in a Woody Allen film, he fantasizes about the bygone days of “Good Old Rock ‘n’ Roll”.

He has next to nothing to do with the pop music of his generation. Neil Young becomes his obsession - soon all the music albums fill his closet. In 2001 he was finally able to see his idol live together with Crazy Horse at the Berlin Waldbühne. On the concert recording you can hear his cheers among the 22,000 spectators. In 2017 he played a “Tribute to Neil Young” concert in Berlin’s Prachtwerk with the specially founded formation Enjoy & Suffer.

With the reading from Navid Kermani's "The Book of Those Killed by Neil Young" with live interpretations of songs by Neil Young on the guitar, Ludwig Blochberger is making another attempt to pay tribute to the "Godfather of Grunge".

Ludwig Blochberger (*1982 in East Berlin) The stages of his childhood: Dresden, where he sings in the Dresden Kreuzchor, then in Vienna he becomes a member of the Vienna Boys' Choir and performs with them worldwide. Singing led him to acting - starting as Prince Edward III. in the production “Edward II.” by Claus Peymann in 1998 at the Burgtheater in Vienna. At the age of 17, his family moved back to Berlin and he studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts.

The role offers for stage and film/television will follow immediately. “The Manns”, “The Lives of Others”, “The Last Train” are a selection of the award-winning films. He embodies, among other things: the young Helmut Schmidt, Wernher von Braun, Pope Innocent III, Sebastian Haffner and Rudolf Höß. He plays theater again and again.

In 2007, under the direction of his father Lutz Blochberger, he took on the leading role in the premiere of the tragicomedy “Heil Hitler!” by Rolf Hochhuth. He worked closely with the director Hans Neuenfels for many years. As Baal (2007) at the Munich Volkstheater or most recently at the Vienna State Opera in “The Abduction from the Seraglio” (2020-2024). In the ARD crime series “Kommissar Dupin” he was Inspector Riwal, in the new edition of the ZDF series “Der Alte” he was Inspector Tom Kupfer (2015-2021).
