The classic West End show is finally back!

From 21 August to 7 September 2025, the world's most famous cats will finally take to the stage of the Admiralspalast again and prove once more that, after more than four decades, the masterpiece is more enchanting than ever to its audience!

At first, there are only glowing eyes. Here a purr, there a soft hiss. In the silvery light of the full moon on a starry night, a London scrapyard is transformed into the ballroom of the Jellicle Cats – in England, derived from ‘dear little cats’. We would probably just say ‘house cats’.

With dizzying acrobatic choreographies, magic tricks and swinging hips, the cats with character vie for the favour of their wise leader, Old Deuteronomy.
He will choose the one cat that may experience the miracle of rebirth.

One by one, the cats introduce themselves. And when the outcast aging diva Grizabella dares to come forward and sings of happier days, it is as quiet as a mouse:
With ‘Memory’, she gives the audience one of the greatest moments in musical history.

Language: English-language original production

CATS | A unique success story

When it premiered in 1981, CATS revolutionised the world of musical theatre forever. The ‘Jellicle cats’ have gracefully broken all records on four paws around the globe, thrilling more than 73 million spectators in over 30 countries. And there's no end in sight to this success story!
More than forty years after their premiere in London's West End, the character cats – from the sly Macavity to the magician cat Mistoffelees and the snow-white innocent Victoria to the irresistible daredevil Rum Tum Tugger – have lost none of their cross-generational fascination. They still captivate audiences that are as diverse as the cat gang itself.

Timeless melodies and unique choreography in a fresh production

From April 2025, the classic can be experienced again in the English original – in the equally authentic and refreshed successful production from London's West End, which was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for ‘Best Musical Revival’ in 2015.

The original was based on the collection of poems Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by cat lover and Nobel Prize winner in literature T.S. Eliot. From it, dramaturge and director Trevor Nunn developed a concept that honours Eliot's linguistic genius while also working on stage.
Andrew Lloyd Webber composed his musical masterpiece to match – a genre mix with unique melodies that have long since become classics themselves. Gillian Lynne's groundbreaking choreography and the characteristic costumes by John Napier, who also created the impressive set design, perfect the overall work of art: a playful combination of feline movements and human characteristics.

CATS has already won seven Tony Awards and three Drama Desk Awards.
