Opera by Francesca Caccini
400 years ago, during the carnival season of 1625, the opera "La liberazione di Ruggiero dall'isola d'Alcina" by Francesca Caccini was performed in Florence; it is the earliest stage work by a woman known to us. Katharina Bäuml has thoroughly reworked the work with her ensemble Capella de la Torre and is performing it in a semi-staged version at SPAM.
