Climate change and deforestation through the eyes of Malagasy artists

Mio e.V. cordially invites you to the book launch of the new interactive environmental education material ‘Ala - Forest’.

This project, funded by Bread for the World and the Regional Agency for Development Cooperation, is a bilingual textbook that deals with the topics of deforestation, climate change and climate justice using the example of Madagascar. The 272-page book combines scientific information with creative contributions from the fields of painting, dance, sculpture, music, performance, photography and film by Malagasy artists.

Ala - Forest’ is aimed primarily at schoolchildren, adults and other interested parties and provides unique access to global climate issues through interactive design and the use of QR codes for audio and video material. The aim is to convey complex relationships in an understandable and motivating way.

The evening will be accompanied by a reading, music, a small exhibition and a Q&A with the Malagasy artists who contributed to the project.
