Exit paradise - I show you love

The eighth multimedia pop-up exhibition in Anna Borowy's I SEE YOU series brings a remarkable group of artists to the extraordinary SevenStarGallery in Berlin Mitte.

Under the title Exit Paradise - I Show You Love, younger artists are gathering here alongside influential figures from the independent art scene of the 1990s and early 2000s: Anna Borowy, Thorsten Heinze, Frank Künster, Miki Rosi-Richter, Carolin Saage, Marek Schovánek and Tim Falko Walter are taking part this time.

Since April 2022, Anna Borowy has been pursuing her “heart project” I SEE YOU, which she deliberately conceived independently of the constraints of the art market and established galleries. This project, which embodies the spirit of “artist supports artist”, has already taken place in extraordinary, often almost forgotten places that radiate a special kind of familiarity, even though you may never have set foot in them.

The I SEE YOU series has now become a fixture of the independent art scene. Borowy has succeeded in inspiring both established names such as Lars Eidinger, Jonathan Meese, Hanna Nitsch, Peter Doherty and Martin Eder as well as up-and-coming talents for their unconventional, non-profit visions. The current exhibition continues this tradition and once again presents a fascinating mix of well-known and lesser-known artists who together embody the creative diversity and dynamism of the Berlin art scene.

The SevenStarGallery, embedded in a historically rich building in Berlin Mitte, creates the ideal setting for this exhibition. The building, which has been lavishly restored, breathes the spirit of the time of reunification, when Berlin was developing into a vibrant art center. Here, far removed from the classic white cubes, the creative awakening lives on and is reminiscent of the time when Berlin became one of the most exciting art capitals in the world at the start of the new millennium.

For what is now the eighth edition of the successful I SEE YOU exhibition series, artist and curator Anna Borowy has announced that she will be showing a previously unpublished work by photographer Thorsten Heinze, a photograph of the King of Pop.

With “Exit Paradise - I Show You Love ”, Borowy invites us to redefine paradise - not as a distant, idealized place, but as the full devotion to our original, wild nature. She asks herself and us: “What if the true paradise was not to suppress our deepest desires and instincts, but to celebrate them as an expression of our humanity? This exhibition challenges us to stop fearing the demons we have been raised by society and to recognize and love them as valuable parts of ourselves. To take a slap of truth and admit our own madness with a smile.”
