NoonSong - Song & Prayer

Music by Bach's successor - The Saxon composer Harrer is largely unknown today. A profound connoisseur
of the most modern Italian styles, he became J.S. Bach's successor as cantor of
St Thomas' Church in Leipzig thanks to the patronage of Count Brühl - a greater
contrast could hardly be imagined.

  • Preces: John Reading (ca. 1645-1692): Preces & Responses
  • Tagespsalm: Psalm 108 Johann Gottlob Harrer (1703-1755): Mein Herz ist bereit
  • Wochenpsalm: Psalm 32 Gregor Wagener (16. Jh.-): Wohl dem die Übertretung vergeben sind
  • Canticum: John Bertalot (1931-): Magnificat
  • Choral: Johann Crüger (1598-1662): Ich singe dir mit Herz und Mund

NoonSong - what's that?

Every Saturday at noon, locals, visitors to Berlin, music lovers and admirers of architecture alike attend NoonSong. It is a concert and a church service in equal measure.  Eight professional singers from the vocal ensemble sirventes berlin, led by Stefan Schuck, sing choir music. The repertoire ranges from music from the Renaissance to contemporary compositions.
