NoonSong - Song & Prayer

German and English romantic choral music - The wonderful music of the English composer Stanford is slowly beginning to
become known in Germany and is extremely popular in England. The touching
choral works of the royal music director in Wittenberg, Carl Stein, have so far
been heard almost exclusively in NoonSong.

  • Preces: Bernard Rose (1916-1996): Preces & Responses
  • Tagespsalm: Psalm 62 Carl Stein (1824-1902): Meine Seele ist stille zu Gott
  • Wochenpsalm: Psalm 119 Charles Villiers Stanford (1852-1924): Beati quorum via (Op. 38)
  • Canticum: Charles Villiers Stanford (1852-1924): Magnificat in C (op. 115)
  • Choral: Heinrich Schütz (1585-1672): Wohl denen, die da wandeln

NoonSong - what's that?

Every Saturday at noon, locals, visitors to Berlin, music lovers and admirers of architecture alike attend NoonSong. It is a concert and a church service in equal measure.  Eight professional singers from the vocal ensemble sirventes berlin, led by Stefan Schuck, sing choir music.
