Piano evening with Japanese pianist Maiko Mine

For the third time, the Japanese pianist Maiko Mine is a guest with a program compiled exclusively for the Marzahn concert. This time, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Frédéric Chopin are the focus of the evening.

Both composers have composed their own collections of preludes based on the preludes of Johann Sebastian Bach. In addition to the two cycles written by Sergei Rachmaninoff, the 24 preludes by Chopin are the main focus of the program.

These highly virtuosic and world-famous gems (“Raindrop Prelude”) are the pinnacle of Frédéric Chopin's compositional work in terms of their melodic quality and variety of musical moods.

Maiko Mine studied piano at the University of the Arts in Tokyo and at the University of Music and Theater in Rostock. She has repeatedly stood on the winners' podium or reached the semifinals at various high-ranking international piano competitions (Chopin Piano Competition Warsaw, Prague Spring, Japanese University Competition).
She has performed with the Polish Chamber Orchestra and the Vorpommern Philharmonic Orchestra on various guest tours at home and abroad.
