Concert in memory of the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising and the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War

The Polish Pilecki Institute Berlin invites you to a concert in St. Elisabeth Church in memory of the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising and the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War.

The internationally renowned jazz violinist Adam Baldych will play pieces from the brand new album "Portraits" together with musicians from the Adam Baldych Quintet, which will be released next year.

The album reflects moving individual fates from the 20th century, takes a look at democracy and freedom from a Polish and Eastern European perspective and asks about the fragile human condition in the 21st century. Baldych's work was inspired by archive materials from the Pilecki Institute and the book "Music from Auschwitz" by Simon Laks, among others. "Portraits" was commissioned by the Pilecki Institute Berlin.

Adam Baldych is one of the biggest exports of Polish jazz and moves at the interface between improvised and classical music.
