by Saskia Boddeke and Peter Greenaway

On the occasion of the 300th birthday of Immanuel Kant, the Einstein Forum is presenting the art installation "The Power of Enlightenment - Walking with Kant" by Saskia Boddeke and Peter Greenaway in the Orangery in Potsdam's New Garden.

The Power of Enlightenment - Walking with Kant

A supporting program with three international conferences, art, music and theater performances celebrate the achievements of the most important philosopher of the Enlightenment.

The installation in five multimedia spatial images comments on Kant's appeal to orient the actions towards reason. Boddeke and Greenaway are known for their immersive, multimedia and sensually opulent spatial installations. In impressive impressions of light, sound and movement, the artists unfold a panorama of Kant's most important philosophical ideas.

On some evenings, extraordinary musical performances and a lecture will be held in the exhibition rooms.

The first highlight is a play by the composer and singer Daniel Kahn, specially arranged for this occasion, which is based on Daniel Kehlmann's bestseller Tyll interpreted musically.

The second musical event is a new interpretation of Mozart's Magic Flute by the British chamber opera ensemble Wild Arts, accompanied by a lecture by the philosopher Martha Nussbaum from her forthcoming book on the opera.
