New Orleans Blues & Barrelhouse Pianostile
The Australian musician Pugsley Buzzard followed his intuition and friendship with drummer Micha Maass and came to Germany in 2018. Since then, the two have been on the road as a duo and with joint band projects to realize their love of obscure sounds and lyrics from New Orleans.

They delve deep into the heat of the New Orleans night and musically describe the melting pot of rhythmic peculiarities of the barrelhouse piano style and the stride piano style, mixed with the energetic songs from the time of close dancing and the wild speak easy parties. The two are inspired by the "greats of this time", such as Jo Jones, Willie the Lion Smith, Fats Waller & Co.
Their band album was nominated for the German Record Award in 2022 and Micha Maass received the Blues Award for Best Drummer for the fourth time this year.
