The artists Khaled Barakeh, Mahube Diseko, Rashiyah Elanga, Levi van Gelder, Joey Holder, Shamiran Istifan, Lucía Pizzani, Niclas Riepshoff, Julijonas Urbonas and Amelia Winger-Bearskin use artificial intelligence, intervene in swimming pool procedures and invent sci-fi scenarios.
They propose alternative forms of collective memory, translate internet phenomena IRL and explore ways in which groups can renew themselves.
On the green space, at the edge of the pool or in front of the kiosk building, pool visitors will encounter outdoor sculptures and (sound) installations, including sky puddles and forgotten civilisations, megabrain locker rooms and memes, surveillance systems and marginalised communities.
By interacting with the artworks, individuals can visualise what their decision-making power means:
Why am I - as part of the community - choosing a dangerous alternative? Which algorithms should I question because they lead to anachronistic judgements? What can I change in favour of the community?
It becomes clear how important access to knowledge is - for everyone - so that everyone can make informed decisions.
SWARM aims to strengthen a diverse, self-determined swarm in which individual action leads to collective responsibility for one another.
Performances, concert series, discourse series and sports events for SWARM offer swimming pool visitors further sensory access to swarm behaviour and collective intelligence.
