A relationship of give and take

"A relationship of give and take" is the central theme of the exhibition by Berlin artist Klára Némethy. In many of her paintings, watercolors and drawings, man and nature merge into a harmonious unity. Her works, which offer an overview of her work from 2018 to the present, present this symbiosis impressively.

The exhibition impresses with a coherent overview of works that, despite deliberate contrasts, form a harmonious whole:

On the one hand, there are idyllic scenes with interwoven trees, delicate flowers, clearings and lakes in which people are part of the natural spectacle without dominating it.

On the other hand, the harsh reality is addressed, for example through the deforestation of the Amazon forests or the devastating floods of 2021 in the Ahr Valley.

In her works, Klára Némethy addresses a new dynamic in dealing with nature and asks fundamental questions:

"What do we give, what do we get? What does nature give us and what does it get from us?"

The exhibition was curated by art historian Dr. Beatrice Miersch.
