Giacomo Meyerbeer was an influential German opera composer of the 19th century, known for his development of grand opera in Paris. His works, such as "Les Huguenots" and "Le Prophète," are characterized by elaborate productions, large choirs and dramatic plots. Meyerbeer's music had a lasting influence on the opera world and inspired many composers of his time and after.
