In the performance After The Sun, Brazilian choreographer Clébio Oliveira explores the memories inscribed in the body and the complex relationships between identity and ageing. The performance reveals the poetic essence of older bodies, especially the dancers, who embark on an unknown journey during this inevitable transitional phase.

Oliveira and his troupe play with the dimensions of space and time, transforming the dance into a mesmerising game of images and thoughts. The result is an immersion in an almost surrealist allegory in which the timeless depth of the unconscious contrasts with the subjective limitations of ageing opens a door to a deeper psychological exploration.

With a mixture of movement, music, language and light, the ensemble invites the audience to contemplate and question the often-forgotten beauty and complexity of ageing. How do people deal with something that is beyond their control?
