In his homeland of Iran, Hossein Alizadeh has long been a musical legend. Probably no one else knows how to play the Persian long-necked lute Tār as virtuosically as he does. The musician is anything but a traditionalist. Rooted in the traditional music of his country, he has brought it into the here and now.

For example, he developed a new instrument from the traditional Setar: the Shourangiz, whose name means something like "giving passion".

With the two singers Zohre Gholipour and Mehdi Emami, the audience also hears two of the most important musical voices in Iran.
