For many years, the InSpirit series has shaped the summer in the Memorial Church: the combination of contemporary jazz music and spiritual content in a church space is unique in Berlin.

The famous blue light of the stained glass windows creates an incomparable atmosphere for enjoying jazz as a spiritual musical experience. Well-known jazz musicians from Germany and abroad organize the evenings of the series together with theologians.
The artistic director of InSpirit is the organist of the Memorial Church, Sebastian Heindl. He not only brings his personal enthusiasm for contemporary jazz to the selection of the invited musicians, but also plays the large organ or the Hammond organ himself on some evenings.
