Inszeniertes Konzert mit sich durch den Saal bewegenden Akteur*innen und Zuhörer*innen

Former artist in residence Patricia Kopatchinskaja cannot get the numerous reports from the world's war zones out of her head. How, the violinist asks herself, do people endure being violently torn from everyday life and the constant fear for their lives and loved ones?

As a musician, the question immediately follows for her:

What possibilities - if any - does music have to at least partially alleviate this suffering?

This semi-staged concert with musicians acting flexibly in the hall and fluid line-ups is Patricia Kopatchinskaja's attempt at an answer:

"The Peace Project" reflects the existential suffering caused by war, which has been witnessed and commented on in music for centuries, in a kaleidoscope of baroque and modern works up to the present day. If people have to lose faith in humanity, the arts can perhaps at least partially restore it, is how the hopeful, positive conclusion of the evening can be summed up.
