The “Dalarna Jazz Ensemble” plays with Lina Nyberg, vocals, Albrecht Gündel-vom Hofe, piano, Birgitta Flick, saxophone and James Banner, bass.

In 2022, Birgitta Flick, Lina Nyberg and James Banner met at the invitation of the Svenskt Visarkivs to experiment improvisationally with music from Dalarna and other compositions by Birgitta Flick at a concert in Stockholm's Scenkonstmuseet and to bring them into contact with newer music, which also was inspired by the Svenskt Visarkiv collection.

In the Trinity Church, the three musicians meet the Berlin musician and mathematician Albrecht Gündel-vom Hofe, to whom Birgitta is connected through a long-standing friendship and a shared love of chorales and liturgical music from a wide variety of contexts.

This evening, the four of them explore, with a lot of improvisation, a collection of Dalarna music, chorales from various origins, their own compositions and some interesting favorite standards from the Great American Songbook.
