About the book “And then the head bursts” for 6-10 year olds

What is soul? What does it look like, this invisible, incomprehensible thing? Where is it located, why do we need it? Christina Röckl talked to children about this difficult question and combined the astonishing answers with expressive, picturesque images.

The resulting book “And then the head bursts”, which was awarded the German Youth Literature Prize, is a wild journey into the unknown, an interplay of funny, absurd and touching thoughts.

On the occasion of the exhibition “Galli – Watch how you get along”, the expressive visual worlds of Galli and Christina Röckl can be explored. Together with the picture book artist, the participants search for their own answers to the inexplicable and create colorful images in the subsequent workshop using the Geli-Print technique.
