Young Euro Classic 2024
The 25th opening concert of Young Euro Classic with the Portuguese National Youth Orchestra will be exciting. Pedro Carneiro, founder and director of the orchestra, is known for his imaginative programs, which always present brand new works in their premieres.

This year, composer Eva Aguilar was commissioned to write a new composition. Aguilar is known as a crossover artist between music, choreography, video and electronics.
Another work that opens the concert is by György Ligeti, a classic of the avant-garde: the Poème Symphonique for 100 metronomes, which produce very special sounds by ticking at different speeds.
Of course, the Portuguese musicians also show classical repertoire with Antonín Dvořák's Ninth Symphony "From the New World".
