Young Euro Classic 2024

For 25 years, the musicians of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) from all 27 countries of the European Union have repeatedly presented their talents in their performances. This year's team, with conductor Gianandrea Noseda and cellist Nicolas Altstaedt, joins the ranks of big names such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Bernard Haitink and Herbert Blomstedt.

The evening begins with a composition by the American Carlos Simon from 2020, the title of which "Fate Now Conquers" refers to a note from Beethoven's diary entries.

Benjamin Britten's "Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra" follows as a virtuoso orchestral showcase work. The symphonic highlight of the evening is the tone poem "Don Quixote" by Richard Strauss, in which Altstaedt plays the knight of the sad figure with his cello.
