Wie ich wurde, was ich wurde

What do you think? Can you say, “whether someone who sits in prison and does this not just once but often, whether such a good person or a bad person”?

With his Köpenickiade to break the vicious circle of “no job -> no apartment -> no passport -> no job…”, Wilhelm Voigt showed in a charming, almost humorous way that meaningless obedience is not a good basis for living together. In the play, it is Marie, Wilhelm's sister, who tells the story. She talks about her childhood: about her father, who was left broken by the war, about her mother, who was powerless and helpless, and about her beloved brother Wilhelm. “No fly could harm Willem.

The severity of the themes is cleverly broken down in the production, with music, choreography, stage and costume design continually challenging each other. They create absurd and funny moments. Lightness and ridiculousness are close together in many elements of the production.

But what does that mean now? Is Wilhelm Voigt's fate funny or tragic? In the end, do you know whether the false captain is a good or a bad person? Children and adults can try to find out the answer on the way home or as a follow-up discussion in class.
