With Elina Albach and the Ensemble Continu:um

The harpsichordist Elina Albach has translated organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach into chamber music dimensions and, together with her ensemble Continuum, is performing them in a radically revised version for baroque multi-instrumentalists.

With an unusual mix of "old" and "new" instruments such as zinc and viola da gamba on the one hand and "melodic percussion" on the other, Bach's work is arranged in unexpected timbres.

Inspired by the poem "Transcription of Organ Music" by the American poet Allen Ginsberg, who is considered a main representative of the "Beat Generation", this touchingly beautiful program looks for new and surprising ways to make the genius, madness and depth of Bach's organ works come alive and to give the audience new access to the great baroque composer.
