Not far from Berlin's main railway station, the vabali Spa Berlin is hidden in the middle of a beautiful park. The wellness oasis, which is unique in Germany, looks like a small Balinese village. On two levels, you will find around a dozen saunas, two swimming pools, three warm water pools, sun terraces and spacious relaxation areas with loungers or waterbeds. All rooms are lovingly furnished and decorated with original pieces from Bali. There are also two fireside lounges and a restaurant. Under the dome of the Tempodrom, you glide almost weightlessly in a large, 36 degree Celsius saltwater pool. Your senses can completely relax in the calm, slightly darkened atmosphere. Underwater music accompanies you during this meditative experience - played several times a week by live DJs. Three saunas and a steam bath await you in the sauna area, as well as a hot water pool in the outdoor area.

3. Take the pedal boat to Batuga Sauna Island

Situated in the middle of the Spree, Batuga Sauna Island can only be reached by pedalo. The trip is worth it, because here you can enjoy a private sauna on a large houseboat, undisturbed by the hustle and bustle of the city, and you can also spend the night there. In addition to the sauna, the facilities include a kitchenette with hob, bathroom, shower and toilet, a cosy, wide bed, a fireplace and a large sun deck with furniture, couches, barbecue and fire bowl. You can also book a hot tub. There is room for up to 15 people in total, the sauna is big enough for twelve guests and up to five people can stay overnight. The floating sauna also docks at various weekly events to pick up interested parties from the riverbank for saunas, dining, yoga or storytelling sessions.

4. Enjoy a sauna and relax in a private suite at My Wellness

If you like to relax in private, then the wellness suites from MyWellness are the right sauna offer for you. All suites are equipped with a Finnish sauna, massage whirlpool, rain shower and private WC. You can bring your own towels and bathrobe, but you can of course also hire them for an additional fee. 5. Have a sauna at Germany's first hammam in the Berlin Schokoladenfabrik

Opened in 1988 as Germany's first hammam, the Schokoladenfabrik (chocolate factory) has established itself as a place of relaxation and recreation for women. In addition to the beautiful Turkish bath, you will find many cosy corners and relaxation areas, a sauna and infrared cabin, as well as massage and treatment rooms on two floors. The feminist sports and counselling services are also very special. You can also book massages, peelings and other treatments. A special tip is the massage course for girlfriends.

6. Jump from the Finnfloat sauna raft directly into the Müggelsee

Sweat and swim: Jump from the Finnfloat sauna raft directly into the Müggelsee to cool off. From the Finnish sauna, which is made entirely of wood, you can watch the landscape pass by through a panoramic window. There is enough space for up to eight people on the raft. The equipment also includes deckchairs, a sun deck, a toilet room, a Bluetooth music system, wood for the sauna heater, fleece blankets and a few Finnish board games. You can also book bath and sauna towels, as well as complete packages for special occasions, from a romantic couple's getaway to sauna raft glamping and a bridal sauna.

10. Take a sauna at Berlin's historic swimming pools

Berlin's swimming pools not only impress with their historical ambience. Eleven of the public swimming pools also have their own sauna area, some with special offers such as spacious outdoor areas, massages or a wonderful caldarium. These well-heated and tiled rooms with almost 100 per cent humidity are known to most as part of the classical Roman thermal baths. Use of the indoor pools is included with a visit to the sauna. Prices vary depending on the pool.
