30 years after his inspiring program "Zarah without dress", the gifted singer and actor Tim Fischer has once again approached the UFA icon Zarah Leander and this time also visually completely transformed himself into the acclaimed as well as controversial Swedish singer and actress, whose anniversary of death will be 40 years in June 2021.

"Ich bin die Leander - Zarah auf Probe" (I am Leander - Zarah on trial) is the name of the evening, for which Tim Fischer himself and cabaret artist and author Ulrich Heissig wrote the book, and which presents many of Leander's great hits, such as "Kann denn Liebe Sünde sein?" (Can love be sin?), "Ich steh im Regen" (I'm standing in the rain) or "Ich weiß, es wird einmal ein Wunder geschehn" (I know, a miracle will happen one day), as well as songs that are almost forgotten today.

The frame story is a fictitious rehearsal in Hamburg in 1948, the preparation for her comeback tour after a forced break of more than five years, during which she was not allowed to perform even in her Swedish homeland because of her career in the Third Reich. Together with four musicians, she works her way through her repertoire, rehearses possible emcees and tells of her successes and failures. In the process, she does not conceal her encounters with Nazi greats such as Joseph Goebbels and Adolf Hitler.

At the center, of course, are the songs of the legendary diva, which, with their unique blend of longing and sharp wit, are interpreted by no one as congenially as by Tim Fischer.
