YAAM on Ice: Young African Art X-Mas Market

A Christmas market with a difference awaits you on the large open space of the Young African Market (kurz YAAM) Young African Market (YAAM for short) directly on the River Spree. Berlin's largest reggae & dancehall event location brings Caribbean flair to the cold season.

Enjoy the tropical winter atmosphere with a cup of Jamaican punch and delicious street food. At 30 festively decorated Christmas market huts you will find art, fashion and various tropical Christmas gift ideas.

Live music and ice skating parties

In addition to live music and concerts by popular reggae bands, changing DJs provide the atmosphere. Look forward to fire & light shows and big DJ skating parties at the weekends. Ice skating workshops are also offered for school classes. Ice skates can of course be hired on site.

Our tips for your visit to Yaam on Ice

It's a five-minute walk from YAAM to Holzmarkt, which also attracts visitors with festively decorated stalls at Christmas time. The Radialsystem is also in the immediate neighbourhood. Exciting concerts and events take place here regularly.

How to get there

The Young African Market is located directly on the River Spree not far from the Schilling Bridge. It is a four-minute walk from Ostbahnhof station to Yaam. We recommend travelling by public transport.
