Goerzwerk

Creative business within an industrial monument

More than 100 years ago, optical products were manufactured in the Steglitzer Goerzwerk. Since the year 2015, the premises of the former factory have now been housing creative manufactories and start-ups thanks to the initiative of a young team.

The spacious premises of the Goerzwerk are packed with potential for new ideas. In the meantime, the building has been inhabited by a number of tenants. Among them we find the ice cream manufacturer Dolci Eis, the coffee and spice start-up Karma Kollektiv, a carpenter's workshop, a manufacturer of design wallpaper, a CBD company and a gin distillery.

The Goerzwerk is also home to Bettina K. Schneider's studio, where she does her creative work with glass. In her glass manufactory, everything revolves around the fascinating, filigree material: She restores historical glass objects, from chandeliers to carafes, and creates her own creations as an art glass maker.

On the last Friday of every month, there is also a colourful farm market, the Goerzmarkt, where you can discover delicious local produce. On this occasion, one-hour guided tours of the historic industrial site are also offered, allowing you to explore the Goerzwerk and its history.
